Dry food is typically carb heavy and by weighing food we know that we are giving them the same amount each meal. This helps us get our dogs blood glucose levels to target range, which is 100 – 250 mg/dL (5.5 – 13.8 mmol/L).
These scales are easy to use, have a nice LED backlight, tare weight, and weighs quantities in grams and ounces.

Since we are talking about PetTest products today I want to mention some products that we use and recommend constantly in our Facebook group Diabetic Dog Owners.
PetTest Meter Kit – blood glucose meter, test strips, 21-gauge lancets, control solution and meter manual included in this kit. This was my go-to meter for years; it is extremely accurate and reliable!
PetTest Genteel Painless Lancing Device – this Lancing Device has been a gamechanger for so many members in our group that had a hard time getting a decent blood sample from their dogs. If you read through the product reviews, you will quickly learn that if you have a hard time getting a blood sample from your “turnip” you will have success using this! The PetTest Genteel uses gentle vacuum and depth control to help draw the blood to the surface painlessly. It has also been manufactured specifically with less vibration. I highly recommend this!
