Thank You from our Diabetic Dogs

Thank You from our Diabetic Dogs

Today I’m going to speak for all of us and say a HUGE thank you to the folks at PetTest. Where do I begin? In the beginning, Advocate started in the human diabetes market and eventually saw that there was a need with other family members, our pets.  They saw that our pets can also become diabetic and it was a “call to action” for them. They saw that there was really only one reliable hand held meter out there and recognized that it was very expensive and for most, cost prohibitive. So they started the journey to create another reliable, accurate meter that was more user friendly and cost effective. The  PetTest Meter was born.

I know that the misconception is out there that PetTest is a very large company, when in fact it is a small “Mom and Pop” company based in Wellington, FL. They have less than 20 employees and that includes the people in the sales team, warehouse and shipping department in North Carolina. They entered the pet diabetes market because they saw a need and have a true heart for animals. I have interacted with most of the employees at PetTest and the common theme is “it’s all about the pets”. It warms my heart every single time.

Throughout the course of my interactions with PetTest, the other common theme is “How can we help, what do they need?” I was part of a fundraising effort for the families of Diabetic Dogs that need a helping hand and upon hearing about it the President of PetTest said, “We will donate a year’s supply of testing supplies to the three highest bidders!!! WHAT?!?! WOW!!! Alrighty then! That is a huge donation! Those three items alone raised over $2,500.00 to help Diabetic dogs!

The folks at PetTest routinely donate items to Facebook Groups for giveaways and give great discounts to those two large groups to make testing at home even more affordable. Even though it eats into their profit margin, they want the dogs to have the best care and chance of survival as possible. They know that they could make a little more on each product, but the pets are more important to them. They are true believers that giving back is the pathway to success.

When my Max was first diagnosed, there was only one meter on the market, that “other meter”. I was part of the Facebook Canine Diabetes Community by then and I called that “other company” to see about negotiating a discount for our group of about 5,000 members (at that time, we are over 12,500 now). The response was underwhelming and suffice it to say that the answer was a flat out “No”. Seriously? Okay, I see that your bottom line is much more important than your customers. That makes me so sad.

The bottom line here is that PetTest has done so much for our Diabetic dogs that there just aren’t enough words to say thank you! So whether you buy direct from  ShopPetTest.com or you buy from their distributors, I will ask you to show them the loyalty that they have shown us. There are new products coming after the first of the year that will be added to the website to give us even more options to treat our pups.

So, in short…

!! Thank you, PetTest, for all of your ongoing support !!
