PetTest Genteel Painless Lancing Device

This has been a game changer for me and my dog. No pain and a good drop of blood nearly every time. So much easier than are old device.

I will preface my comments with the fact that we have only had the device 2 days. Just received our Genteel for use on our diabetic kitty who we do glucose testing 3-4 times a day. The reason we decided to get the device was in the hopes to make the testing easier on him and us. There are times with our regular lancing device we need 3-4 pokes to get a large enough drop of blood to complete the test (this is after warming his ears). We have used the device several times. Some with and some without success. When it works, there is a good drop of blood for testing. We found it works best on the inside of the ear. However, we could not do that with one person since our cat did not like his ear manipulated that way and kept shaking his head. We hope as he gets used to the device that will become easier. We did try it on the outer side of the ear, but could not get a good seal (probably because of the fur?). We are still figuring out which tip will be the best depth and really like that they sent the different tips and some lancets. It is a bit loud when the button is released, but that wasn’t an issue for our cat. I did watch the video from the Pet Test site, but would like to see one with testing on a cat with the genteel device. Overall, I think it will help us in the end, but it was not a quick fix and not as easy as we thought it would be.

This is a LIFE SAVER! I can't recommend the genteel lancer enough. If you have any trouble at all getting a sample for blood glucose testing, give this a try! The spring action device combined with a gentle suction to help draw blood to the surface makes getting a sample so much easier! We will never go back to any other way!

Love this Genteel! I was unable to obtain a sample of blood except for his upper lips and sometimes this was difficult . As long as I elec shave a little spot two fingers below his spine on his hips, (I alternate hips,) then, I am done. I read and follow the directions both in package and on line. Cleaning the inner chamber once a month is very easy ( again I followed the online video the first couple times), and keeps it working like new. I use a Qtip with a drop of rubbing alcohol to clean it. a microdrop picks up if the strips if the strips are Handled from the edges. If you don’t handle from the edges, you will likely get an error and waste the strip. Been using both about a year now. No more sore lips for my fur baby, who is now going on 15 years old.

I ordered this device when it was first offered as a product. I have never been happier with a purchase in my life! My boy just celebrated his 3 year Sugarversary and it is still going strong! In the DDO FB group I encourage everyone I can to purchase it, but especially those having a hard time getting a good blood sample for testing. This definitely makes life alot easier on sugar pups and owners alike! Thank you for all you do to make our lives just a little bit better!

I cried for a week straight not being able to get a blood sample from my sweet girl. The FIRST day and from then on, when using the Genteel, I got a perfect blood sample each time.

I had to go for my aging Schnauzer's lips due to inablility to get a drop from other areas. I watched the video, carefully read the instructions, easy to understand. My learning curve was I needed to leave the device in place after lifting my finger off the button or it would splatter. No more swollen lips for him! We both love this device, plus I could use it on myself if ever needed.

Magical device. I'm learning how to check BG had no luck with lancets couldnt even get them to click to get a sample from the ear. Tried this and got it the first try, the suction helps so much

I do not know how to draw blood without it. Thank you so much for created them!
