The Importance of The Painless Lancing Device for Pets
Why is it so important to make sure that our diabetic dogs and cats are comfortable when we test blood glucose levels? Because we need to be able to test their levels at any given time. Hypoglycemia is a real issue since we inject insulin, a very strong hormone. Dogs are considered type 1 diabetics which means that their pancreas is no longer producing enough or any insulin, and while we give them consistent meals and insulin there are a lot of factors that can cause them to drop and experience hypoglycemia. We have to make sure blood is circulating well at the site we lance, the correct depth has to be used on the lancing device and we have to use the appropriate gauged lancet. I just got my PetTest genteel in the mail today. Got my FIRST easy sample from my turnip today!! I’m still doing the happy dance. She showed no signs of it hurting her or really bothering her at all. I AM AMAZED AND SO THANKFUL TO THOSE THAT MADE THIS POSSIBLE.I have been in tears trying every other method with nothing but tears to show. We got a good ear sample, she moved the first time, but was able to get it on second try. I’m still doing the happy dance
